Worth The Price in Gold (2006)

Dear Mike at FFMastermind.com,

Boy, for a few years, I had egg in my face in a BIG WAY.  What do I mean?  Well, in case you didn't realize it, this is Rob Williams, a previous loyal and rabid FFMastermind.com premium subscriber.  And yes, I subscribed in 2006, so what do I mean by previous?  From 1999 through 2003, I was also a premium subscriber of your's, but then I got cute.  And it turned out to be the BIGGEST MISTAKE of my fantasy life!  What's the story?  OK, sit back and listen to this, but it's one I'm sure you have heard before since you've been on the web for a decade now.

As I said earlier, I was a subscriber from 1999 through 2003, and during that time, you help me win my very serious local league that's been around since 1990 THREE TIMES.  But in 2003, I slipped to 4th overall.  Even though I had a few key injuries, I still blamed FFMastermind.com for not getting me that 4th championship.  Pretty greedy, eh?  Well, if you only knew the competition in my league, you'd understand.  Anyway, as the 2004 season approached, I decided to take a different tactic and subscribe to a different fantasy service.  So, I tried K***.com.  That was mistake #1.  Yeah, they got a pretty good daily NFL news page, close to being on par with your NFL Quick Bits, but I gotta tell you, their premium service was just a big mess.  I guess you could say there were too many cooks in the kitchen, as their opinions varied widely with little sense as the season progressed.  I never really understand the value of your personal opinion, but whenever I needed you, you were there to quickly answer my e-mail or take my phone call.  Needless to say, K***.com didn't get me that championship and never answered my e-mail fantasy questions.  In fact, I finished a distant 8th that year, missing out on the playoffs for the first time since 1997.

Now, as 2005 approached, did I learn my lesson and return to FFMastermind.com?  Nope.  I was determined to spend LESS money on a service and felt 2004 was just a fluke.  So when I found another site called Footb*****ys.com and their price was about half of FFMastermind.com's, I thought I hit the jackpot!  Mistake #2.  While their site bragged of producing several thousand pages of information and about helping fantasy players win high stakes leagues, they failed to mention that their basic strategy (VBD and offshoots of it) is flawed.  I know you tout on your site that you have personally won several experts leagues, so I found it very interesting to see that Footb*****ys.com wasn't touting any such expert league championships on their site.  Now I know why.  The bottom line over there is no matter how many thousand pages of info you produce, if your basic strategy is flawed, you aren't going to help the serious fantasy player.  Sure enough, I finished 10th out of 12 teams in my league in 2005.  But I finally learned my lesson.

In 2006, I promptly returned to FFMastermind.com, called you personally in May and bought your Super Bowl package before the price went up in June.  But even if I had waited, your premium services are worth the price in GOLD!  I was so happy to be back with the Mastermind.  Without missing a beat, your helped me finally capture that elusive 4th championship!  You gave me great sleepers to target like RB Frank Gore and TE Kellen Winslow in my draft.  With your help and the STUD RB Theory (your take on it of course), I finished with a sparkling 14-2 league best record to go along with my championship.

The moral of this story is simple.  Smart and serious fantasy players should subscribe to FFMastermind.com premium services if they really want to win their league.  I can tell you now that as long as FFMastermind.com is online, you have a subscriber FOR LIFE!  I may be stubborn, but I'm not stupid.  I know this is just one testimonial out of several hundred that you post on your web site, but I think this story should be highlighted as the primary reason to buy your products.  There's no better place to go to in order to get help to win regardless of price!  A big thanks for still being around when I finally came to my senses, and for being such a patient person too!
