ESPN reports new Los Angeles Chargers OC Mike McDaniel has limited QB Justin Herbert's throwing during the adjustment period while the coach shifts his frame and footwork. Once a week, Herbert uses a green water ball to focus on his footwork and throwing motions. There is also hope that less throwing will keep Herbert's arm fresh later in the season. "I've thrown a lot of footballs, and it's May and June, and I didn't think it was as necessary to throw as much now," Herbert said. "And do everything I can to get the footwork ready and get the offense down and the throws, they'll be there. We've got plenty of time in camp." When Herbert did throw during minicamp, the results were uneven. Herbert and his receivers were frequently just out of sync on timing, an expected part of implementing a new offense but something that will need to improve during training camp. "You want to get the ball into a position where the receivers can run with it and get the ball out earlier and in timing and rhythm allows them to do that," Herbert said. "I think we've got the guys that are explosive and able to make guys miss. So I think the better that I can do that, the more successful we'll be."

ESPN reports Hillsborough County (Florida) Judge Christopher Sabella found probable cause for Detroit Lions CB Terrion Arnold to face felony charges of armed robbery and kidnapping but denied prosecutors' motion for the Detroit Lions cornerback to be held without bond Monday. Arnold's bond was set for $1 million with the following conditions: He is not allowed contact with the six co-defendants or the witnesses in the case. He must surrender his passport within 48 hours. And he was ordered confined to his residence in Tallahassee, Florida, except when he's playing, training and traveling with the Lions or making court-related appearances or legal appointments. The state asked the judge to require Arnold to wear a GPS tracking device, but his attorneys argued that he would not be able to play football with such a device. Sabella said Arnold will instead have a "paparazzi monitor."

Johnson revealed his condition in an interview with Michael Strahan on ABC’s Good Morning America. “First, I want people to know I’m still me,” Johnson said. “ALS has changed what my body can do. But it hasn’t changed who I am.” Johnson speaks with the assistance of a device controlled by his eyes.
