Dallas Cowboys February Scouting Report
Dr. Gil Brovar
2/14/2024

The Cowboys have a large number of free agents but the 2 contracts that need immediate attention. QB Dak Prescott is in the last year of his contract and if nothing is done, the contract will carve out 60 million of cap space. This will limit everything they do in the off-season. They will either have to add a throw away year onto the end of the contract or they will have to work out an extension. It is most likely that they work out a long term extension, despite the disappointment of the playoff game. He will likely become the highest paid player in the game but his cap hit will decrease. The next contract they will need to address is that of WR CeeDee Lamb, who is in his 5th season. If they do not address this before the season, he will become a free agent next season. Therefore, expect them to sign him to a long term mega-deal in the near future.

The list of UFA for 2024 are:

OT Tyron Smith

RB Tony Pollard

CB Stephon Gilmore

DE Dorance Armstrong

S Jayron Kearse

CB Jourdan Lewis

DE Dante Fowler

CB Noah Igbinoghene

DT Jonathan Hankins

LS Trent Sieg

OT ChumaEdoga

DT Neville Gallimore

C Tyler Biadasz

RFA

RB Rico Dowdle

I expect they will bring back Jonathan Hankins and Trent Sieg and likely Tyron Smith. I do not expect them to bring back Tony Pollard, Jayron Kearse, Noah Igbinoghene or ChuimaEdoga. They would like to keep Stephon Gilmore, but only at the right price. They may also want to keep Dante Fowler although he may follow Dan Quinn to Washington. They may want to keep Jourdan Lewis at a team friendly deal. Neville Gallimore is not likely to be in their plans. They are looking to upgrade the center position and if they do so successfully in the draft, they will likely let Tyler Biadasz go.

More to come next month!

End.

Testimonials

"I began using FFM in the late 1990s. For 20+ years they were an extremely valuable resource, as I enjoyed great success in my league during that period. Unfortunately, my league came to an end during the Covid years, and I stopped subscribing to FFM. After a year without Fantasy Football, I started looking into online sports betting and quickly realized FFM could again become a valuable source of information for prop bets on individual players. I resumed my subscription with FFM and have not looked back. FFM is clearly a dual threat; they can severely increase your odds of success in both fantasy leagues as well as prop betting. I almost feel guilty with the tremendous returns I get from such a modest investment in FFM."

"Thanks again for helping me win 3 championships in 4 years. Your premium services are great. Considering I won over $4,500 (net) in four years, I would say your service is quite a bargain."
-- K. Rogers

"Mike, I'm back in with you buddy. Don't know how many years I've been with you, but I could not bear the thought of playing fantasy this year, without your services -- no matter what my job situation is."
-- C. Savoni

"Great job with another SI.com Championship- clearly you rule that kingdom with FOUR championships in a row! And to win it being the #4 seed, too. Awesome job!"
-- John Pittman
