New York Giants March Scouting Report
Tony DeArmas
3/31/2025

With free agency frenzy dying down Big Bluebegins to focus on the draft in April. There is much discussion as to what the Giants will do with the 3rd overall pick. They have set themselves up for possibly taking the best player available if QB Cam Ward and QB Shedeur Sanders are off the board. Personally, CB/WR Travis Hunter would look great in Giant blue. If that’s the case, expect them to draft a developmental guy later like QB Jaxson Dart or QB Jalen Milroe.

The Giants upgraded the quarterback room by signing QB Russell Wilson and QB Jameis Winston to contracts. Wilson signed a one yr deal while Winston signed a 2 yr pact. For now, Wilson will be the presumed starter. If the Giants draft a quarterback, I expect QB Tommy DeVito to be released.

RB Tyrone Tracy Jr will be the defacto starter. I expect them to draft another running back in this deep college class. RB Devin Singletary is the backup but he is on shaky ground in my opinion especially if another youngster flashes.

WR Malik Nabers will benefit greatly with the upgrade to the quarterback corps. He will produce even more in his second year as the go to guy in the offense. WR Darius Slayton was signed to a new deal and provides veteran leadership with big play upside. Reliable slot WR Wan’dale Robinson rounds out a solid trio of receivers. WR Jalin Hyatt is on the outside looking in. He hasn’t lived up to his draft status and will be relegated mostly to the bench.

TE Theo Johnson was having a nice season until an injury ended his season prematurely. He will be a big threat in the receiving game. TE Daniel Bellinger hasn’t fit in with the current regime and is a backup.

LB Brian Burns and LB Kayvon Thibodeaux are a dangerous pass rush duo. With stud DT Dexter Lawrence coming off an injury, the defensive line will be an area of strength. Expect another defensive tackle to be drafted to pair with Dex.

LB Bobby Okerekeneeds to have a bounce back season. LB Micah McFadden had a good year and is on the rise.

The secondary got some big upgrades in free agency. CB Paulson Adebo was signed from the Saints. He immediately becomes CB1. S Jevon Holland was signed from Miami and becomes a formidable duo with up & coming S Tyler Nubin. CB Deonte Banks has yet to live up to his lofty draft status.

That’s it for now. More to come in April after the draft….

End.
