Dallas Cowboys May Scouting Report
Dr. Gil Brovar
5/31/2025

After all the moves that have taken place in this offseason, I can say that I am optimistic for the 2025 season. Additionally, we still have significant cap space available should we decide to add more players.

To start, we revamped the entire coaching staff hiring Brian Schottenheimer as HC. This was not considered a great move at the time but everything he has said and done since then has raised his stock significantly. Additionally, we have OC Klayton Adams, Offensive Line coach Conor Riley and DC Matt Eberflus. These are significant upgrades which could allow us to get the most out of our players.

Notable draft picks that should help us are as follows:

OG Tyler Booker, EDGE Donovan Ezeiruaku, CB Shavon Revel, RB Jaydon Blue and DT Jay Toia. UDFAs of note include WR Josh Kelly and WR Traeshon Holden. One of those 2 could make the team

They were more active in free agency and trades this offseason although they did not go for the big names. Notable players they acquired were QB Joe Milton who could be the best backup Quarterback we have had in a while, LB Jack Sanborn, DT Solomon Thomas, LB Kenneth Murray (who has immense physical talent and could be coached into a special player), CB Kaiir Elam (who has looked really good so far in OTAs), EDGE Dante Fowler, RB Javonte Williams (who says he is fully recovered), RB Miles Sanders and their biggest acquisition via trade, WR George Pickens (our first legitimate second wideout in a while).

In addition, we resigned DT Osa Odighizuwa, which was very significant. We still have to extend EDGE Micah Parson, CB Daron Bland, OG Tyler Smith and K Brandon Aubrey, but they should get all that done before the deadlines they have set for these players.

As a result, we should be better coached, have a stronger running game and a more varied pass game, giving defenses more to plan for than just containing Ceedee Lamb. Additionally, we are getting a healthy QB Dak Prescott back which should help immensely.

There could be more to come and I think we should see improvement across the board in every aspect of this team's performance in 2025.

End.
