Washington Commanders May Scouting Report
David Vohs
5/31/2026
Here are the NFL Draft picks made by the Washington Commanders in 2026. From my viewpoint, the Commanders did a great job with the picks they had to work with. They even got a great camp arm at QB from Rutgers.
Round 1 Pick 7 LB Sonny Styles Ohio State
Round 3 Pick 71 WR Antonio Williams Clemson
Round 5 Pick 147 EDGE Joshua Josephs Tennessee
Round 6 Pick 187 RB Kaytron Allen Penn State
Round 6 Pick 209 C Matt Gulbin Michigan State
Round 7Pick 223 QB Athan Kaliakmanis Rutgers
I absolutely loved the first round pick by the Washington Commanders. LB Sonny Styles (Ohio State) in my opinion was the steal of the draft. Washington didn't have much draft capital, but it grabbed tremendous early value and often. In my opinion. It started in Round 1, when Sonny Styles slipped from an expected top-five pick to the Commanders at No. 7. I think this could end up being the best pick in the 2026 draft.
With Friday's only pick, the Commanders drafted WR Antonio Williams in Round 3 at No. 71 when he was expected to go at No. 66. But their Saturday picks flashed even more value. In Round 5, they took EDGE Joshua Josephs at No. 146 when he was expected to go No. 77. In Round 6, they drafted RB Kaytron Allen at No. 186 when he was expected to go No. 130. Later that round, they grabbed C Matt Gulbin from Michigan State at No. 208 when he was expected to go No. 168.
I like this Commander's team in 2026 if they can keep QB Jayden Daniels alive and upright. The offensive weapons still need some work but WR Antonio Williams and RB Kaytron Allen should help with that as reserves this year.
Go Commanders!
End.
