Here’s a quick update, as the Chargers progress through their training camp and are now in pads.

QB: I continue to believe that QB Justin Herbert is a Top 10 fantasy option. Expect new OC Mike McDaniel to open things up a bit. Herbert has thrown some picks in camp, but that’s probably nothing to worry about.

RB: Reportedly, RB Omarion Hampton has had a strong camp, and is poised to have a strong 2026 season, should he remain healthy. He’s a strong RB2 in most leagues, perhaps a weak RB1 in bigger leagues, with upside potential. He’ll be backed up by RB Kimani Vidal, and RB Keaton Mitchell, who looks to be a 3^rd down option.

WR: My gut feeling is that WR Ladd McConkey will have a solid 2026 season. He was great in 2024, perhaps regressed a touch in 2025, but I think he’s s strong WR2. I’m a bit concerned about WR Quentin Johnston. He had stone hands 2 years ago, improved last year, but is having some embarrassing drops in camp. WR3 for now. I think WR Tre’ Harris will have a somewhat expanded role this season. He looks fit and put on about 8 pounds of muscle. Not sure I’d draft him, but I would keep an eye on his use. With WR Keenan Allen gone, his role could expand, and perhaps even more so if Johnston keeps dropping balls.

TE: Speaking of putting on muscle, it appears TE Oronde Gadsden put on about 20 pounds and looks to be in great shape. Gadsden has TE1 potential, but the presence of TE David Njoku and to a lesser extent, TE Charlie Kolar, hurts his value. TE2 at present but watch and learn.

PK: This is the easy part. PK Cameron Dicker is among the league’s best kickers.

DEF: The Bolts’ 2026 defense is likely to be above average but not elite. Day 9, it was reported that EDGE Khalil Mack and EDGE Tuli Tuipulotu "dominated practice". A recent report ranked S Derwin James as one of the top 5 defensive players in the NFL. Good luck with your drafts!
