2025 PSDG: Fantasy Defense or Real Defense? (Preview)

Ask any knowledgeable football fan to name the statistics which are most indicative of a good NFL defense and they generally will tell you that it comes down to two things: stopping the run and rushing the passer. All other defensive success comes from these two stats, because stopping the run forces them into higher-risk passing situations...and then on long down-and-distance, pressuring the QB can lead to drive-ending sacks, rushed and off-target passes, and ultimately an increased chance to cause fumbles and interceptions. Because a lot of these same things are how fantasy football defenses score their points, it stands to reason that these stats which indicate good actual NFL defenses should also reflect the best fantasy football defenses, right?
