Assessing the strength of schedule for wide receivers, and by extension, tight ends, is a bit more complicated than with running backs or even quarterbacks. For one thing, there is a great deal more variability and movement up and down the rankings from year to year. Last year’s most generous pass defenses might end up among this year’s best, and vice versa. For example, the 2024 Vikings were a revolving door, ranking dead last in the league in fantasy points allowed to wide receivers, but the 2025 Vikings turned into a maximum security prison on lockdown, finishing first against fantasy wide receivers. Several factors could account for this, but you can’t find a more extreme turnaround outside of a superhero origin story.
